The Klymit V Sheet is an all new accessory for regular sized Klymit Static V sleeping pads. The V Sheet covers the top of the pad and it has a pocket at the head end to hold a pillow. I’ve been testing the V Sheet for a few weeks now and I have to say that I like it a lot.
The Klymit V Sheet pad cover is removable and machine washable so it will help to keep your sleeping pad clean. Installation and removal of the sheet is a snap. Put the inflation valve through a hole sewn in next to the pillow and slide the ends of the pad into the sheet. A snap-together fabric web in the center of the pad helps to hold the sheet in place. A small shock cord cinches the bottom around the pad just like your sheets at home. The Pillow X Large fits into the pillow pocket or you can stuff extra clothing into the pocket. Everything is held in place well and the pocket is big enough to hold just about any camping pillow.
The Klymit V Sheet has a nice soft feel and really adds some comfort to the sleeping pad. Those who use quilts instead of sleeping bags will really appreciate the feel of the sheet. The pillow pocket is especially great. I have a bit more room on the pad with the pillow in there, and the captured pillow is the bomb. My arm fits in the pocket under the pillow just like I sleep at home.
The Klymit V Sheet in its stuff sack weighs in at 5.7 ounces on my scale. The stuff sack accounts for about half an ounce. The sheet packs down pretty small to roughly 7 by 3 ½ inches. The stuff sack is plenty big and the sheet goes in without much trouble. A 30D stretch polyester fabric gives a great feel and is quite tough.
The price on the V sheet is $29.95, so buying one won’t break the bank. I think the sheet adds a lot of comfort to my Insulated Static V Lite and I don’t see any needed improvements. Klymit offers a lifetime warranty and that is impressive. Check out all of Klymit’s products at klymit.com.
I’d like to thank Klymit for sending the V Sheet out for testing and review. We at Industry Outsider have limited budgets and the ability to provide honest, useful information on gear hopefully benefits everybody.
