Let‘s get something out of the way right now. I hated flip flops and I didn‘t care who knew it. Let‘s lump, slides, clogs, and just about any other open heel type shoe in there too. They kill my feet and they just kick right off of the end of my toes. All ten piggies try to grip on like a cat hanging on to the side of the tube come bath time. The toe clamp action always ends with cramps in the arches of my feet so I just can‘t wear flip flops. After receiving a pair of Oofos Sport Sandals, I‘ve been able to let go of my past and start hanging with the cool kids.
At the Outdoor Retailer show last summer, my friend took me by the Oofos booth. Friendly folks asked if I‘d like to try a pair and reluctantly, I agreed. Figuring I‘d have to be polite and move along, we got a pair of size 11 and put them on my feet. Immediately, my mind was changed. When I stood up, the cushy foam soles felt so great. The arch support was a bit much but quickly became nice. Then it happened. I walked and they stayed on my feet! My toes did not clinch. The arches in my feet stayed relaxed and then I walked for several hours in the Oofos Sport Sandals voluntarily.
Oofos Sport Sandals take the OOriginal and adds nice graphics and a two-tone upper. The OOriginal Sport is in the men‘s section of the Oofos website and it comes in sizes 3 through 14. Offos says it is for both men and women so choose your size accordingly. I wear size 11 shoes and that size fits me perfectly. Talking about the Ooriginal, Oofos markets these as an exercise recovery shoe. Oofoam absorbs the impact as your foot hits the ground rather than rebounding and propelling the foot like performance shoes do.
I haven‘t found a single thing that I don‘t like about the Oofos Sport Sandal. The straps don‘t dig or cut into my feet or toes. The footbed is so cushy and the arch support is terrific. Best of all, they stay on my feet. This is a big deal for me and these are the first shoes of this type to stay in my footwear collection. I look for them to wear around the house or even to go to town. It probably offends Oofos for me to sort of classify them as flip flops but I promise you that these are no ordinary slide, clog, or flip flop. I‘ve never been more surprised to like anything that I can think of. My completely negative mindset going in changed the minute I stood up while wearing these shoes. Everyone‘s feet are different but I‘ve talked to many people who love these shoes.
