The Light My Fire Pack-up-Bottle is a great addition to your gear bag. It’s got all the features you might expect from Light My Fire – practical, versatile, and affordable, plus a design that is unique. The top portion of the bottle is made from BPA-free polypropylene. It’s sturdy for weighing only 202 grams, and the arch on the top of the bottle makes it easy to clip to your bag. A 63mm wide mouth opening makes it compatible with filters and other accessories, which is quite handy during long-term outdoor excursions.
What’s especially useful about this bottle is that you can even use it to boil water. The bottom part is made from a thermoplastic elastomer (TPE) which makes it heat averse, so you can hang it safely over a fire. I tried it out, and after boiling some water over a campfire (and getting the bottom dirtied up with soot) I found that the entire thing is also super easy to clean. It disassembles in two places, so it’s no problem to get the dirt out of all the nooks and crannies.
Light My Fire Pack-up-Bottle, collapsedAnother thing that makes the Pack-up-Bottle so awesome is that it’s collapsible. Because the TPE bottom is soft like silicone, you can fold it up into the hard plastic cap. It’s fantastic because you don’t really have to learn to collapse it, you just push up the bottom of the bottle however suits your fancy – and stick it in your backpack for easy carrying. It’s dishwasher safe and microwaveable, so if you’re not planning on using it for crazy wilderness adventures, you’ve got bonus features for around the house as well. I might also mention that this would be a great addition for the frequent airport traveler, as you can fold it up in your carry-on until you go through airport security, and expand it on the other side to stay hydrated throughout your travels.
Overall, this 23oz (700ml) bottle is incredibly versatile, and an easy item to incorporate into your on-the-road life. With an MSRP of $19.99, it’s a great value. What else can pack down into the smallest bag, yet carry cold drinks and still be used to boil water? Find it in six different colors at Industrial Revolution.
