Albabici and Sci’Con to Support American Cyclists at Fixed Fest 2012 in Indonesia
OXNARD, Calif. – Albabici, a leading importer of Italian cycling products, and Sci’Con Technical Bags, Italian makers of arguably the world’s best bike travel cases – are teaming up to support two American fixed-gear bike racers who will be competing in Fixed Fest 2012 in Jakarta, Indonesia.
Fixed Fest 2012, set for July 13-15 at Jakarta’s expansive Senayan complex, is the unofficial “world championship” for the growing cycling sub-culture of fixed-gear bike racing. While “fixies” are a common sight in American cities, the sport has been embraced full-cloth in, of all places, Indonesia. Competition at Fixed Fest 2012 includes criterium racing, an urban “stage” race across Jakarta, and bike tricks.
Albabici and Sci’Con are providing pair of Sci’Con AeroComfort Plus travel cases for Los Angeles-based fixed-gear racers Sean Martin and Kelli Samuelson. Martin — a well-known cycling blogger, filmmaker and race organizer — and Samuelson are members of Team CBNC, an irreverent, iconoclastic fixie race team that is a powerhouse in Southern California’s vibrant underground racing scene. Martin’s website, www.takeoverla.wordpress.com, chronicles the fixed-gear racing and culture in the Los Angeles area.
“Thanks to the Sci’Con AeroComfort bags donated by Albabici, Kelli and I are assured that our race bikes will make it to Fixed Fest in Jakarta safe and sound,” said Martin. “We promise to race our hearts out and bring home the victory for the pride of the United States of America! Thanks for the all of the support from Albabici and Sci’Con.”
The AeroComfort Plus is the perfect solution for cyclists wishing to protect their bikers when traveling by plane but don’t want to use a hard case. The AeroComfort Plus offers the flexibility and lightness of soft bags, combined with the stability and safety of a hard case. It features an anti-shock Bike Frame that protects all critical parts from impacts and vibrations. AeroComfort Plus has been carefully designed around the bike’s geometry, making packing easy — even the handlebars remain in place. Wheels are stored in individual padded wheel compartments.
