Need A Boost? Grab A Bonk Breaker Energy Bar

Bonk Breaker Blueberry Oat

Hit a wall? Need a Boost? Grab a Bonk Breaker Energy Bar! I first learned about Bonk Breaker when I registered for my USA Cycling license this last January. Seeing that they are the official energy bar of the Ironman competition I knew I had to try some.

Owned and operated by Jason Winn and Chris Frank, Bonk Breaker‘s first energy bar was invented in 2005 in an apartment kitchen. Jason and his mom cooked up the first PB&J energy bar and now have 10 uniquely delicious flavors.Featuring both energy and high protein bars, Bonk Breaker bars are the choice of many athletes, no matter what the competitive level. All bars are gluten free, dairy free, and soy free, and made with ingredients that are easy to digest. Packaged in an easy to open candy bar like wrapper, the bars are 2.2oz and about three quarters the size of a regular sized post-it note.

Bonk Breaker Peanut Butter & Jelly

I sat down with my wife a few days before the Land Run 100 gravel race and we each tried the Bonk Breaker six pack sampler. The first thing we noticed was some of the bars have a crispy consistency, probably due to the rice ingredients. We found them all really tasty and easy to digest, and of course had our favorites. I really enjoyed Bonk Breaker‘s PB&J, but the Peanut Butter & Banana Energy Bar was a close second. My wife‘s favorite was the Peanut Butter & Chocolate Chip.None of the flavors are overpowering, and we noticed on almost all of the labels that sugar was listed near the end of the ingredient list, or not at all.I could have eaten an entire box of the PB&J while competing in the Land Run 100 down in Stillwater, OK. I never knew that something so tasty and satisfying could come in a package that small. Best of all, they helped give me the energy needed to keep moving forward.

If you are looking for an energy bar that is easy to digest, great tasting, and comes in a multitude of flavors, look no further. These Bonk Breaker bars will stow away easy, keep your tummy happy, and most of all keep you supplied with enough energy for even your longest rides.

I tried the following flavors: Coconut Cashew, Peanut Butter & Jelly, Peanut Butter & Chocolate Chip, Almond Butter & Honey, Peanut Butter & Banana, and Blueberry Oat.
