We really like Eureka! products. They have a wide range of camping gear, and it’s all at family-friendly prices, so they’re helping more families enjoy the outdoors together. And you really get more quality and innovation than you pay for with them, which is kinda rare these days. No matter who you’re buying for, they have something for every budget. Here are the top picks this year:
Couples therapy! The Sandstone 30 Double sleeping bag is built for two. Great for mom and dad, or your favorite adventuresome newlyweds. The Sandstone 30 Double sleeping bag is constructed of 68D polyester taffeta and 75D polyester ripstop shell. There’s a “peached” polyester liner fabric that’s super-soft and feels warm to the touch. Stay cozy and warm with a full-length draft tube, plus there are internal and external pockets and a stuff sack. The feature-rich Sandstone 30 Double also easily converts into two separate sleeping bags for added versatility. A suggested retail of $129.99 makes it a bargain.
Bring the kids on your next outing. Sized just right for your teens and short adults, Eureka! offers new junior mummy sleeping bags designed to fit campers up to 5‘-6”. Although smaller in size, these junior models have all the same features as their larger counterparts – including the same 68D polyester taffeta shell and lining, Eureka!‘s ThermaShield insulation, plus a full-length draft tube, internal pocket and a compression stuff sack.

How about backpacks that work as well for daily use as weekend overnighters? Check out the Saranac 22 and the Stony Creek 35 (shown, right) backpacks. Both come with the usual useful touches like padded hip belts, and plenty of interior compartments for storing gear and supplies. That’s the camping side. But they can also accommodate your technology with mesh cell phone pockets, and a fully-padded laptop compartment that buckles closed for safety. It can fit most laptops up to seventeen inches.
o Stony Creek 35L: (21.5” x 15” x 10”); weight: 3 lbs.; colors: True Black/Pirate Black and Pirate Black/Moab Red; Retail: $79.99
o Saranac 22L: (20” x 13” x 8”); weight: 2 lbs. 2 oz.; colors: True Black/True Black, True Black/Pirate Black and Pirate Black/Moab Red; Retail: $59.99
We reviewed the Warrior 230 portable LED lantern back in March, and it’s been a favorite ever since, thanks to the combination of high output lighting, long battery life, and a wireless remote control that includes its own flashlight for finding your way to the loo at night. Although the specs say the remote should be good for up to 25 feet, we’ve had luck at distances a bit beyond that. (Or we’re just bad at estimating) The Warrior 230 has a dimmer switch and SOS flash, built in carry handle and optional (included) hanging hook. To maintain its compact size, it runs on three D-size batteries. Dimensions for the Warrior 230 are 3.4” x 3.4” x 7.3”. We mentioned long battery life too. How about 50 hours on high, 200 on low, and 200 when set to flashing? Retail: $64.99.
Eureka!‘s Tetragon tents are available in six different sizes, from just cozy enough for two ($94.99), up to their big family-size ten person model ($369.99). Every one of them has the features you expect when it comes to storage, ventilation, and keeping you and your family (and stuff) dry.
While the holiday season may not be peak camping season for most families, it’s a good time to give (or get) some new camping gear for next year. eurekatent.com
