While I was browsing Kickstarter the other day, I came across the HexFlex multi-tool, and was struck by the cool yet simple design. This pocket-size tool will keep your bindings tight and anything else that needs to be secure! It’s a product of genius and ingenuity. With every space on the HexFlex there is a purpose, and it just so happens to be in the shape of a snowflake. While the HexFlex was originally designed for snowboarders, I bet you’ll find yourself using it for many everyday purposes. It can be carried with you anywhere, and at just 2.3 ounces, it easily attaches to a backpack, keychain, or just simply dropped into your pocket. And what does that 2.3 ounce, 2” diameter multi-tool give you? In the order of clockwise, outside to the inside it gives you the following:
HexFlex
- Flathead Screwdriver
- #3 Phillips Screwdriver
- #2 Phillips Screwdriver
- 4mm Allen Wrench
- 5mm Allen Wrench
- 6mm Allen Wrench
- Box Cutter
- 1/4in End Wrench
- 5/16in End Wrench
- 10mm End Wrench
- 7/16in End Wrench
- Bottle Opener
- 12mm End Wrench
- 1/2in End Wrench
- 9/16in End Wrench
Blown away yet? HexFlex mentions on their Kickstarter page that this is just what is provided on the prototype. I‘m not sure how they plan on outdoing their multi-tool, but I‘m excited to see what else they can produce. Right now, they offer stainless steel, black oxidized steel, and a really sweet limited edition titanium HexFlex. They also offer each version with metric units and you can see a diagram of both on their Kickstarter page here: http://www.kickstarter.com/
With their campaign more than fully funded (five times over the last time I checked) and still plenty of time to gain more attention, we are pretty excited to promote HexFlex and its creators. They have come up with a tool that is not only handy, but looks cool too.
