It can’t be called Bike Week, because for many people, that conjures up images of loud motorcycles and scantily-clad women in Florida. Not that there’s anything wrong with that. But the League of American Bicyclists (a name that as a one-time expatriate, I’m not too fond of) is promoting the month of May as national bike month, and May 11-15 as Bike to Work Week, with Friday being the official bike to work day.
If you’re reading this, chances are that you already ride to work, or at least plan to. That’s good for your health, your wallet, and the environment. Now would be a good time to try to involve friends, family, and co-workers.
As far as habits go, it’s a good one.
