Create a quick campsite wherever your truck takes you with the Napier Outdoors Sportz Truck Tent 57 Series. Don’t worry about finding a flat and level spot to pitch your tent, just park wherever you want and set up camp! The Sportz Truck Tent will take some worry and hassle out of your day trip or overnight plans, when tailgating, bumming around on the beach or just relaxing in the outdoors.
Features:
The Napier Outdoors Sportz Truck Tent 57 Series sleeps 2 adults comfortably with 5’7″ of standing room. A 4′ x 4′ awning with adjustable poles offers shade and protects you or your valuables. The rear of the tent has a convenient zip-down window allowing campers access into the truck cab through the rear window. This feature allows campers access to charge devices or extra storage space. Ventilation from large windows and ceiling vents allow the tent to breathe. This really helps with preventing the interior of your tent from sweating and soaking your belongings. A gear pocket and lantern holder are provided, but if you need more stow-away storage an included gear loft installs overhead. The gear loft has a pass-through for the lantern holder.
Setup and Assembly:
Setup instructions are sewn into the inside of tent storage bag, but I forgot about that on the first trip. Each tent pole is color-coded to match its tent sleeve. This feature is really helpful for the first time setup. The Sportz Truck Tent mentions in the instructions that setup time is around 15 minutes. This is probably about right if two people work together and everyone is familiar with the assembly. If you are alone and a shorter person like myself, some of the setup might be a little bit tough on taller trucks.
Compatibility:
The fit is perfect for the 5-foot short-bed of my 2017 GMC Canyon. When fully assembled the tent is very snug and secure to the bed. Tents are available for many vehicles and vary for vehicle brand, model, and bed size. Please consult the Napier Outdoors website or a Napier Outdoors dealer near you to find the model that best fits your vehicle.
FAQ:
- Trucks featuring roll bars will need to have the roll bars removed to ensure the tent fits snugly to the bed.
- Whether sprayed in or pre-fabricated, bedliners are fully compatible with the Sportz Truck Tent 57 Series.
- Use of the tent with hinged or slanted tonneau covers does not work when those types of covers are installed.
- Do not operate your vehicle with the tent installed. This could cause personal injury or damage to your truck.
- Use of the tent with bed rails is ok, but only if they are 3 inches or shorter in height.
- Bed toolboxes don’t have to be uninstalled, but they will reduce the interior space and could cause damage to the tent.
Final Thoughts:
This tent met our every need and desire while camping. Had I printed off an extra copy of the setup instructions or remembered they were sewn to the bag, the first time setup would have taken a lot less time. The features, standing room, and quality of this tent rate highly on my list of favorite camping tents. An MSRP of $269.99 is quite reasonable considering you are purchasing a custom-tailored tent. Home is truly where I park it, thanks to Napier Outdoors and my Sportz Truck Tent 57 Series, .

Disclosure of Material Connection: I received the Sportz Truck Tent 57 Series from Napier Outdoors, in consideration for review publication.
I might also mention if you have a 4×4 truck like mine a step stool would be a suggested item to bring. But my cooler worked well enough for my first outing.
