Boulder, CO ‘” Polar Bottle® is excited to announce that it recently signed on as a sponsor for the Dairy Center for the Art‘s Bike Art at the Dairy 2013 exhibit and events. As part of the sponsorship, the Boulder-based insulated water bottle manufacturer has partnered with the local art center to organize the first-ever Children and Youth Polar Bottle Custom Water Bottle Design Contest.
Art submissions will be accepted and judged in three categories: pre-school and elementary school, middle school, and high school. Either original art or electronic files may be submitted and must be received at The Dairy by 6:00 p.m. November 20, 2013. This competition is open to all children and youth across Colorado.
“Our bottle design allows a lot of room for creativity,” said Polar Bottle President Judy Amabile, referring to the Polar Bottle dual-wall insulation design that features an inner and outer plastic bottle sealed around a foil liner, where the custom graphic will be printed. “Our graphic design team creates custom art for our customers every day. It will be fun to see what these kids come up with.”
To participate, students will design their own graphics for the foil liners used in Polar Bottle insulated water bottles. One winning design from each age group will be selected by a team of executives and designers from Polar Bottle and Visual Art jurors from The Dairy. The art will be reproduced on 20-ounce Polar Bottles with winning art and artists announced at the exhibit opening events on December 5th and 6th at The Dairy.
Contest submissions will be accepted in various mediums, ranging from crayon drawing to digital Photoshop™designs. Art teachers from Boulder Valley and Saint Vrain School Districts and various pre-school and after school programs will assist with student participation. Printed templates detailing the size and shape of the bottles are available at The Dairy and through Polar Bottle. Templates can also be downloaded off the Polar Bottle website http://www.
Bike Art at The Dairy 2012 opened to a crowd of over 1,600 arts and sports patrons with an exhibit of works by 126 artists from around the country. During the three-week exhibit, an estimated 12,000 additional visitors came to view art and attend bike-related events. In keeping with Boulder‘s “Go Big or Go Home” culture, Bike Art at The Dairy 2013 has been expanded to cover a six-week period. The exhibit kicks off with two opening nights: December 5th and 6th, and continues with other events including performances by national touring group Bicycle Men and a ticketed VIP event January 9th, during the 2014 USA Cyclo-cross National Championships, held at the Boulder Valmont Bike Park January 8th -12th.
