While this might seem a bit off-topic for us, we’ve invited all of our media partners to let us know about any efforts they’re making to promote National Breast Cancer Awareness Month, with the promise that we would share them with our readers, as this is something we feel strongly about.
Brown Shoe Company, Inc. (NYSE: BWS, www.brownshoe.com) is partnering with Susan G. Komen for the Cure®to call women to action to fight the disease through yearly screenings, healthier prevention habits and by supporting survivors and those currently battling the disease. Brown Shoe is donating $20,000 to Komen for the Cure in 2011 in connection with this program.
To celebrate this initiative and bring attention to the cause, REBA Footwear designed a special pink “Collins” cowboy boot. Exclusively available at Dillard‘s department stores and dillards.com, the limited-edition leather boot features a blend of dusty rose and hot pink, burnished leather embellishments with a Western wingtip snip toe and retails for $179.00.
“I have dedicated my pink Collins cowboy boot to this significant cause in hopes that it will make an impact on the lives of everyone that is touched by breast cancer, from the survivors to their supportive circle of family members and friends. In honor of those women, let‘s take action towards prevention by getting yearly mammograms and promoting healthier habits. Together, we can fight the disease” said Reba McEntire.
