Support Hurricane Harvey Relief Efforts

Texas is a mess in the wake of Hurricane Harvey. Lives has been lost, homes and businesses are in ruins. But like every other disaster, people get back up, dust (or dry) themselves off, and rebuild. And among the many things outdoor enthusiasts are known for, caring tops the list. Caring about the environment, and each other. Already, plenty of companies are doing what they can to offer aid in the form of gear and financial assistance. Here are some ways you can help. Yes, you can make a direct donation via your phone (a simple text). But purchasing your favorite gear will also provide support. I’ll be adding more to this list, as I become aware of them.

On August 30th, Kammok donated 100% of the proceeds from the entire day’s sales at kammok.com to relief efforts. Going forward, all proceeds from the sale of their Texas Flag Hammock will be donated. So if you need a new hammock, buy this one, and make a difference. Don’t need a hammock, but still want to help? Text HARVEY to 90999 to make a $10 donation directly to the American Red Cross Foundation. Got more than $10 to give? Follow this link to the American Red Cross site to make a donation for Harvey relief.

Grand Trunk is running a similar campaign to show their support. They too offer a Texas Flag Hammock, with 100% of the proceeds going to relief efforts through the end of September.

Aquamira and Geigerrig are in the clean water business, and they’re showing support too. So when you place an order before September 15th on aquamira.com they’ll match your order value in DIVVY Emergency Water System donations to help the relief efforts. During checkout, simply enter code divvy4harvey in your cart and they’ll do the rest.

If Paypal doesn’t leave a bad taste in your mouth, click here to see the list of charities they fund through the Paypal Giving Fund, an IRS-registered 501(c)(3) public charity.
