The Swedish FireSteel®, available from Industrial Revolution, was originally developed for the Swedish Department of Defense, but now anyone can own one these fine products, including the FireSteel 2.0® Scout pictured below.
The striker has a built-in whistle, and the steel and lanyard are available in several colors. Stows anywhere, and can produce a 3,000°C (5,500°F) spark, even when wet. Expect about 3,000 strikes from this little guy too.
While they are available online as well as at plenty of camping stores, the first reader to post “I want the FireSteel 2.0 Scout” on our Facebook page is going to win this very one. (Sorry that we tried it once. You still have 2,999 strikes left)
