This summer, University of Toronto engineering students will be heading to Battle Mountain, Nevada, with the Vortex, their carbon fiber rocket of a recumbent. While they already hold a couple of records, they’re shooting for the top speed record of 133km/h, which is an incredible 83MPH – quite impressive for a human-powered recumbent bicycle.
