Harvard Medical School misses the point

I just read about a new study at Harvard Medical School where they determined that men who cycle 3 or more hours per week have a high rate of ED (erectile dysfunction). They give some tips about seats and recumbent bikes, but miss the bigger picture. If you’re riding for more than 3 hours a week, it’s critical that you get the proper size bike, and get it fitted properly as well. Having spent some time working at a bike shop, it baffles me that people are willing to spend hundreds or thousands of dollars on a bike and gear, but can’t be bothered to spend an hour or two getting the seat, stem, and bars adjusted. And this was a service that we offered at no extra charge.

Since Valentine’s Day is next week, let’s all get our bikes properly adjusted so as not to suffer any embarassing or disappointing moments.
