Mosaic Cycles Launches CT-1

It’s not every day that I see a bicycle, and want it right away. But the CT-1 from Mosaic Cycles is one of those. Sure, it’s priced as much as a well-used economy car. But totally worth it.

Elevate Your Commute With This Handmade Titanium Masterpiece

From pothole-filled alley ways to perfectly manicured greenways, the Mosaic Cycles CT-1 is the bike of choice for riders looking to elevate their commute.  This new model redefines the urban riding experience with a sporty yet functional design, harnessing titanium‘s corrosion-resistant properties and natural compliance.

The first CT-1 frame was born in collaboration with Shimano to showcase their Metrea groupset, an urban sport inspired groupset, for the 2017 North American Handmade Bicycle Show. After months of daily commuting and refinements, Mosaic felt it needed to be added to their line of handmade titanium bicycles, allowing others to benefit from seeing their cities from outside a car.

“While the overall design concept was to keep this bike simple and functional, yet elegant, there‘s a few key design elements that make this bike perfect for the urban setting,” said Aaron Barcheck, founder of Mosaic Cycles. “Titanium is a natural choice for a bike that will be ridden in all conditions as it is naturally corrosion resistant. Design wise, it has a low bottom bracket which helps make the CT-1 stable, but we‘ve kept the handling on the faster side of things for a city bike to keep it playful and lively.”

The CT-1 is available in five stock sizes and features rack and fender mounts as standard features. The frame is designed for flat mount disc brakes, mechanical shifting, and 12mm thru axles for the front and rear wheels. The straight gauge titanium frame is paired with ENVE‘s GRD fork, which has a removable fender to allow for year-round riding.  Retail pricing for the CT-1 frameset starts at $4450.
