If a picture is worth a thousand words, this is our longest article ever. Here are a few shots from the Outdoor Retailer Winter Market show going on this week in Salt Lake City. Look for more details in the coming weeks and months. While we may have some favorites, they’re presented here in no particular order.
Industrual Revolution showed us their award-winning Titan matches. Super-sized, with a burn time of up to 25 seconds, you’d have to work hard to get them to go out under even the worst conditions. Note the standard sized wooden match in the bottom of the photo, for reference.
Titan matches from UCOL.L. Bean had a variety of clothing to show us, but it was this combo for bike commuters who want style and performance that really stood out.

Wood Mark wooden watchAvex, always one of our favorites, will be releasing a pint glass (well, it’s metal, not glass) later this year with a handy bottle opener built into the bottom. Crack a bottle of your favorite cold beer, and pour it in.
Avex bottle openerJBL had several speakers and ear buds on hand, but this light-up speaker really caught our eye. Other Bluetooth speakers included a very portable model with a clip for your belt loop or backpack, as well as one with enough battery capacity to recharge your phone.

While we were shown all sorts of blends, including Merino wool, silk, Tencel, nylon, and Spandex, it was this asymmetrical pair from Fox River that stood out for the novel use of graphics, with stars and stripes being very appropriate for an American sock company.
